TipPre-press Divine Protection on Stormbound Mystic

You timed your first Den +14 — but the D is not just the key: the Ruby +14 an hour later was harder and graded C. The gap is dispels and a 61% kick rate.

The two axes carrying 59% of your grade both read low. `throughput` 51 means you covered 63% of the damage that actually needed an outside heal — the damage left after the party healed itself and after overkill. `response` 48 means that of the damage landing in the party's twenty worst eight-second windows, you put back 32%.

The tool flags that this key asked more per second than the corpus its curve was cut on, and that flag is correct. The easy conclusion from it — that the D is an artifact — is not. You ran Ruby Life Pools +14 fifty minutes later, and by the tool's own demand measure it was harder (163,072/s against this key's 146,882/s, both from their records). It graded C 65. Same healer, same tank, same night.

So the honest split: the party took 51% more damage per second here than in the +13 Den on identical affixes (261,869/s against 173,514/s, from the archive), and 42 of 108 interruptible casts got through. That is not yours. But dispels were 20 of 35 where Ruby was 7 of 7, and your healing per second of combat was 12% below Ruby's. Those are.

What to change, biggest first

  1. Enh Shaman: drop Poison Cleansing Totem on every Toxic Spores wave on The Hoardmonger — they land about every 40 seconds and hit all five. It already cleared four of the ten that came off.
  2. Whoever owns kicks: Earth Bolt leaked 34 of 46 for 9.2M. The same dungeon on the same affixes converted 84% eight days ago; 61% is the whole reason intake was 51% higher.
  3. Pre-press Divine Protection on Stormbound Mystic. At 22:52 it landed 0.3 seconds before you died — 885,242 arrived in 1.4s from 64% health, and the button was right, just late.
  4. Change nothing about your cooldown usage. Avenging Wrath on a two-minute cadence, Aura Mastery 9, Divine Toll 43, nothing unpressed — that half of the key was clean and the grade does not show it.
  5. Ignore Shield of the Righteous as a suspect. 4.7 casts/min is below your own Den baseline and it does not track coverage anywhere in the archive.
  6. For the tool: give `response` the same denominator `throughput` already has. Counting damage a Blood DK healed back himself as damage the healer failed to cover is the bug that was fixed on throughput and left live here.

Notes

Where the numbers need a second look

What was outside your control

The group stopped 61% of the casts that could be stopped. Your own history says that is the anomaly, not the key: the Den +12 and +13 on 2026-08-28 ran the *same three affixes* and converted 84% and 84%. Earth Bolt alone leaked 34 of 46 and put 9,155,257 into the party (spell totalled from the log).

That is most of the reason the intake was extreme. At 261,869 damage per second of combat this key beat the worst Den ever recorded by 38%, for one key level over the +13 — a level is worth roughly 10%.

Three of the six deaths were not healable by anyone. Arcane Mage's Raging Squall at 17:28 was 878,470 in a single hit with no prior damage; Enh Shaman's Echoing Maul at 26:10 was 864,061 the same way. Overkill — damage past zero health — across the whole key was 0.2% of the worst-window total, so nothing here is a case of healing arriving late. It arrived or the hit was fatal on impact.

Read your response score carefully — its denominator counts damage nobody had to heal

This is the one place the axis is wrong for the run, and it is worth knowing before you act on a 48.

`throughput` divides by damage that needed an *outside* heal: self-healing, overkill and off-healing are all removed first, which is why its denominator here is 263,031,404 and not the 400,921,691 the party actually took. `response` does none of that. It divides by raw damage landed in the worst windows.

Measured from the log: 67% of the 124,959,630 in those windows landed on Blood DK, and he healed 35% of it back himself — he is a Blood DK putting out 47,503 HPS. Strip self-healing, overkill and off-healing the way `throughput` already does and the denominator falls to 80,932,793, of which you covered 39.3% rather than 32%.

That is a real inconsistency between two axes in the same report, and it penalises exactly this shape of key. It does not rescue the score, because every other key in the archive was measured the same inflated way — on the like-for-like number Ruby the same night still comes out ahead, 45.8% to 39.3%.

The dispel is the one clean loss, and it has a fix that is not yours

Toxic Spores went out on The Hoardmonger four times, and each wave hit **all five of you at once** — the log shows five applications inside six seconds at 06:54 and again at 08:15. One dispeller with a cooldown cannot clear five. Eleven were left up for 163 seconds and 7,492,636 damage.

The 08:31 double death sits inside the second wave. Arcane Mage held it 12 seconds and died with Toxic Spores among the damage that killed them; Sub Rogue held 23 seconds, Blood DK 26.

The fix already exists in the group and was under-used: **Poison Cleansing Totem removed four of them.** Of the ten Toxic Spores that came off, you cleansed six and Enh Shaman's totem took four. The waves land roughly every 40 seconds on that boss, which is inside the totem's cooldown. Every wave it covers is one you do not have to spend a global on.

What to keep, and two suspects that are not guilty

Your cooldowns were on cadence and are not a place to look for the loss. From the log: Avenging Wrath 15 casts at a near-perfect two-minute rhythm, Aura Mastery 9, Divine Toll 43, Lay on Hands 3, Blessing of Sacrifice 8. Nothing sat on the bar.

**Shield of the Righteous is not the leak it looks like.** It took 186 of the 609 Holy Power you spent — 31%, measured off the powerCost field on every cast — which reads alarming for a healer. But 4.7 casts a minute is *below* your own Den norm of 5.8 and 7.6 in the +12 and +13, and across the archive the rate has no relationship with your coverage. Holy Power overcap at 23% is the highest of your recent keys but the difference is a few percent, not a grade.

**The Echoing Fury over-exposure charge (1,329,464) does not survive a look at the log.** You took 13 to the party median of 4, but you were standing *further out* than the people who took fewer — median 13.1 yards from Nalorakk against Blood DK's 7.0 and Sub Rogue's 5.2. It is not a frontal cone either; the hits land between 6 and 163 degrees off his facing. The only player who took none was Arcane Mage at 20.9 yards. The log does not explain the mechanic and I am not going to invent one — but nothing in it supports 'you stood badly'. Note also that it hit four of five, one short of the threshold that would have excused it for everybody.
