Depleted by 20 seconds with 2:30 of death penalty: three Living Bomb carriers, Hyporock on a Destroyer as it exploded, and a five-death wipe in the storm gauntlet where the clouds' shields ate 229 M.

28:20 against a 28:00 par. Ten deaths cost 2:30 on the clock, so any one of them not happening times the key; the play between the deaths was good — 93% of the clock in combat, 181 kills in nine pulls, 100 of 110 kickable casts stopped, every dispellable debuff removed.

The deaths come in three shapes. Three were Living Bomb carriers — the healer at 9:36, the warlock at 13:18, Hyporock at 19:27 — and Living Bomb at this level is about a full non-tank health bar over six seconds plus an explosion; a carrier who walks off keeps it to themselves, and a defensive (Divine Shield, Astral Shift, Unending Resolve) answers it where Divine Protection alone does not. One was Hyporock eating Burnout, the Blazebound Destroyer's death explosion, for 1.31 M at 10:22 — the mob died at 10:23 with him on top of it. One was Molten Boulder on Kokia. The other five were one incident: the storm gauntlet after Kokia, 19:27 to 19:43, everyone down.

The gauntlet is a targeting problem, not a healing problem, and it was tonight too: the Primal Thunderclouds' Stormcloud Barrier absorbed 229 M — the enemy shields ate 18% of everything the party swung all key — and nobody pressed Purge once. Kill the Tempest Channeler and High Channeler Ryvati; the clouds are a sink.

What to change, biggest first

  1. Whoever gets Living Bomb: walk off and press the immunity — three of ten deaths were carriers. Blessing of Protection does nothing to it; Divine Shield, Astral Shift and Unending Resolve do.
  2. Hyporock: off the Blazebound Destroyer before it dies. Burnout is its death explosion; 1.31 M at 10:22 with the kill one second later.
  3. Storm gauntlet: Tempest Channeler and High Channeler Ryvati first, and ignore the clouds — 229 M went into their shields tonight.
  4. Resto Shaman: Purge the Stormcloud Barriers on the clouds that are actually being hit, and Blaze of Glory on the Flamelasher — both are Magic, and Purge was not cast once.
  5. Nothing to change on kicks or dispels: 100 of 110 stopped and 5 of 5 removed is the best board of the night.
  6. Everyone at the fire camp: back out of Inferno's range when the 3.5 s bar fills — it cannot be kicked or stunned and it was 13% of everything you took.

Notes

Where the numbers need a second look

Whose fault: ten deaths, four causes

**Living Bomb, three carriers.** Resto Shaman 9:36 (1.04 M of bomb plus 706k of Inferno, nothing pressed), Demo Lock 13:18 (914k, nothing pressed), Hyporock 19:27 (749k of bomb under Tempest Stormshield and Thunderous Stomp — Divine Protection and Blessing of Protection were pressed, and neither touches it). The bomb is cast on one player, lands two seconds later, ticks six times, then explodes; Barkskin-class reductions cut the ticks and an immunity removes them. Hyporock's Divine Shield had gone at 18:32, fifty-five seconds earlier, so nothing he had left answered it — that death belongs to the wipe it was part of.

**Burnout, 10:22.** The Blazebound Destroyer explodes when it dies. It died at 10:23; Hyporock took the full 1,307,127 (overkill 467k) standing on it, with no healing in the window because there was no window. The warlock's pets ate 70k each from the same blast — that is what standing 10 yards away costs. Step off a Destroyer under 20%.

**Molten Boulder, 17:37.** Kokia's rolling boulder for 858k, with Inferno ticking behind it for 682k. Dodgeable, and 444k of healing was already on him.

**The gauntlet, 19:27–19:43.** Hyporock (bomb), then the healer to Lightning Torrent (920k over 9.5 s, nothing pressed), the warlock to Torrent and Stormshield over 14.8 s, the tank to 4.9 M of melee in 5.3 s, the warrior to melee and Stormshield. Arms Warrior died to Torrent again at 22:33 when they went back in.

The storm gauntlet: 229 M into shields, zero purges

The party attempted 1.26 billion damage this key and 276 M of it — 18% — was absorbed by enemy shields. Stormcloud Barrier on the Primal Thunderclouds took 229 M of that on its own; 113 barriers went up and none came off. The archive's earlier reads of this pack say the same thing every time: the Tempest Channeler and High Channeler Ryvati summon the clouds, each cloud arrives with a ~3 M shield, the clouds expire on their own, and AoE poured into them accomplishes nothing while Ryvati's Tempest Stormshield lands on everyone every fifteen seconds. Two of the five wipe deaths were Lightning Torrent, which is the channelers casting.

Stormcloud Barrier is Magic. Purge removes it, and a Resto Shaman purged one in a +12 on 09-08 to prove it. Nobody cast Purge tonight. That is not the main fix — 113 purges is not a use of a healer's globals — but the four or five clouds standing on the tank are. The main fix is the target: the two channelers first, and the enemy count as the signal the pull is being won, not the damage meter.

The other shields were the usual: Ice Bulwark on Melidrussa 14.3 M, Blaze of Glory on the Ashseer Flamelasher 10.1 M (also Magic, also purgeable), Ice Shield 6.8 M.

Hyporock, and the fire camp

228k, 109% of the other damage dealers' median, 16 casts stopped against 17 expected, 94% engaged, one battle resurrection. The rotation numbers are where the earlier keys tonight put them; the three deaths are the whole of the C, and two of the three were position — on the Destroyer as it died, in the boulder's path. The Living Bomb one had Blessing of Protection pressed at it, which is the wrong button by school — Divine Shield is the one that answers a bomb — but Divine Shield was on cooldown from 18:32, so there was no right button left.

The fire camp after Melidrussa is where two of the ten deaths came from, and this pack has now killed players in three keys in two nights. Inferno is a 3.5 s cast that cannot be kicked or stunned and stamps a five-second debuff on everyone in range when it completes — 487 ticks tonight, 49.8 M, 13% of the party's intake and the largest line in the party-wide list. The only counter is distance when the bar fills. Twenty seconds of everyone on the Destroyer and the Cinderweaver together is a clean pull; entering it piecemeal stretches it and stacks an Inferno, a bomb and a Cinderbolt into the same ten seconds.
