Bad pullpulled with the healer far behindProt PaladinTipWhen you're sinking, Divine Protection first

Prot Paladin pulled with Resto Shaman far behind, and the wipe that followed is why the key was not timed.

Prot Paladin started pull 3 while Resto Shaman was still far behind, and the group wiped. Without that wipe, the key would have been timed.

The rest of the run went well. Every boss died, and only 2 more people died after the wipe. The weak spot was kicks, where the group stopped a smaller share of enemy casts than in any other finished key that night.

What to change, biggest first

  1. Prot Paladin: check that Resto Shaman is with you before you pull.
  2. Agree a kick order before each pack with casters.
  3. Arms Warrior: hide behind cover when Zaen channels Murder in a Row.
  4. Hyporock: when you are sinking, press Divine Protection before anything else.

What the group changes together

Wait for the healer before pulling. Prot Paladin opened 3 pulls with Avenger's Shield while Resto Shaman was out of range, and the first of them wiped the group. Before each pull, Prot Paladin checks that Resto Shaman is close, and Resto Shaman calls out when they need a moment.

The group also stopped a smaller share of enemy casts than in any other finished key that night. On top of that, 23 kick presses landed on casts somebody had already stopped. A kick order before each pack with casters would help with both.

The comp

The comp was fine. Nothing that went wrong in this key needed a different class.

Notes

Where the numbers need a second look

Divine Protection and the global cooldown

Hyporock pressed Divine Protection 3 times at 4:41 while the global cooldown was still running, so the game refused it. Those refused presses did no harm. The global cooldown ended 3.1 s before Hyporock died, and Wake of Ashes went out instead of Divine Protection. The same thing happened in the next key, the Voidscar Arena +15, with Divine Storm taking the free global cooldown.

Spirit Link counted as avoidable damage

Sub Rogue's mechanics score counts Spirit Link as damage that others in the role avoided. Spirit Link is Resto Shaman's totem evening out the party's health, so nobody could have avoided it, and it makes up 931,720 of the 2,112,632 charged. That part is Arbiter's mistake. The rest is Infernal Crush. Its tooltip says it erupts under players Xathuux picks, so how much of it can be walked out of is not certain.
