Timed with 3:49 to spare and four deaths; Hyporock died twice with no defensive pressed, the second time over nine seconds with Lay on Hands and Blessing of Protection both off cooldown.

A comfortable +1: 28:11 against a 32:00 par, 95% of the clock in combat across eight big pulls, and a minute of death penalty that did not threaten the timer. The party was strong — an Arms Warrior at 282k, a Devourer at 232k and Hyporock at 241k, all within 20% of each other — and the route was the aggressive kind, 197 kills in eight pulls, three of them over 20 mobs.

The deaths are the story, and none of them cost the key. Hyporock's C reads harshly for a 241k parse; nine of the points are the two deaths, and the damage axis is a rank against a Warrior who out-parsed him. The first death was a spent kit — Divine Shield, Lay on Hands and Blessing of Protection had all gone out in the ninety seconds before a 1.04 M two-hit burst. The second one had two buttons available and unpressed: nine seconds under fifty-three mobs, 1.58 M of it plain melee, with Lay on Hands and Blessing of Protection both sitting ready — the latter used sixty-eight seconds later.

This key is also the before-picture for the Kings' Rest that followed it: Avenging Wrath went out with Expurgation on the target 10 of 23 times here, and 26 of 26 an hour and a half later with the new cue on screen.

What to change, biggest first

  1. Hyporock: in a long melee grind press what is ready — at 21:14 Lay on Hands and Blessing of Protection both were, and Protection alone would have removed 1.58 M of the 2.61 M that killed you.
  2. Hyporock: space the immunities. Divine Shield, Lay on Hands and Blessing of Protection all went in one 64-second stretch at 6:39-7:43, and the arrow at 8:36 found nothing left.
  3. Arms Warrior: a defensive under Thunder Spit — 13.6 seconds of ticking is time to press Die by the Sword.
  4. Resto Shaman: Astral Shift when Merektha burrows; Burrow alone was 845k on you.
  5. Nothing to change on kicks: 78% stopped as a group, and the three melee carried it.

Notes

Where the numbers need a second look

Whose fault: four deaths, three of them in the first thirteen minutes

**Hyporock, 8:36, second trash pull.** From 92% health: Lingering Storm for 297,839, then Sandburst Arrow for 745,944, 0.4 s apart. No reaction fits in 0.4 s. What would have fitted is an immunity in hand, and there was none: Divine Shield had gone at 6:39, Lay on Hands at 7:05, Blessing of Protection at 7:43 — three majors in sixty-four seconds, all on cooldown when the arrow landed. That is a pacing problem, not a reaction problem.

**Resto Shaman, 12:05, Merektha.** Burrow for 844,713 — the boss surfacing under the healer — with no defensive and only her own 2k of healing in the window. Astral Shift was the button.

**Arms Warrior, 13:11, Merektha.** Thunder Spit ticked for 1.54 M over 13.6 s. Resto Shaman and Hyporock put 554k back into that window and did not outrun it; no defensive over thirteen seconds is the miss.

**Hyporock, 21:14, the 53-mob pull.** 2.61 M over 9.2 s — melee 1.58 M, Caustic Stomp 1.03 M — against 900k of healing from Resto Shaman. His health sat between 42% and 73% for the whole nine seconds. Divine Shield was down (19:22) and Forbearance had cleared at 19:52; Lay on Hands (last used 16:24) and Blessing of Protection (7:43) were both ready. Protection makes you immune to physical damage and would have zeroed the melee that was 60% of the window; it was pressed at 22:22 instead, and Lay on Hands at 24:33.

What the group left up

Lightning Bolt got through 25 of 65 times and Venom Bolt 3 of 18; the group stopped 78% of what it could reach, and the melee did it — Arms Warrior 24 stops, Blood DK 21, Hyporock 13, Devourer DH 11, Resto Shaman 7. Serrated Charge was left up 23 times for 137 seconds and 17.5 M, the largest single line in the party's intake at 20.3 M; Cytotoxin 9 times for 8.9 M. Serrated Charge is a bleed nobody in this party can remove, so the healer's dispel score (9 of 34) charges her for debuffs that were never hers. Cytotoxin is a Poison — Purify Spirit cannot take it, Cleanse Toxins can, and Hyporock pressed Cleanse Toxins four times this key.

Resto Shaman read C- with 83% of the outside-heal need covered and 36% of the worst windows put back; a third of the deduction is one death and a tenth of her intake being Siphon Energy, a channel aimed at her 36 times where her peers took 4. Spirit Link Totem was never pressed.

Hyporock's rotation, as the control for the next key

Measured the same way as the Kings' Rest that followed: Avenging Wrath was pressed with Expurgation already on the target 10 of 23 times, a median 7.1 s after the last Blade of Justice, and twice more than 20 s after it. Execution Sentence followed Wings within 0.1 s every time. Hammer of Wrath inside Wings ran 12.2 a minute and Blade outside Wings 6.1 — both where the list wants them. Autos ran 42 a minute with a Shaman's Skyfury doubling 30% of them.

So the only thing that changed between this key and the next was the Blade-before-Wings order, and the log of the next key shows it moving from 43% to 100%. The 241k here is the higher DPS of the two nights and says nothing against the change: this is an AoE dungeon with 197 kills, the next was a boss-heavy one with 111, and Warcraft Logs has this run at the 40th percentile among +15 Ret parses.
