TipDivine Shield on the first Void Cascade hit

Clean +16, timed with minutes to spare; the only death was a Void Cascade double hit on Charonus.

This was a well-played key. The group stopped 99% of the casts it could reach, and the timer came in under par by a wide margin. Very little time went to walking, and no pull wiped.

It was also a heavy key for the healer. The party needed more healing per second than almost every key the healing scale was built from, and Resto Shaman kept everyone alive through it.

The only death was Hyporock on Charonus. Void Cascade hit him from full health, then hit again a second later. Nobody else was touched by a cascade all key. Divine Shield was ready and got pressed just after he died. That death cost 15 s, which this key could easily afford.

What to change, biggest first

  1. Hyporock: Divine Shield the moment the first Void Cascade hit lands
  2. Group: give Lava Bolt casters a named kicker on each pack
  3. Frost DK: use Anti-Magic Zone on Dreadbellow and Unstable Singularity
  4. Nothing to change on pace or interrupts overall; both were excellent

What the group changes together

Keep the interrupt rotation as it was. The one gap was Lava Bolt, where about a fifth of the casts got through. Assign one kicker to the Lava Bolt casters on each pack so it does not fall to whoever is free. On Charonus, call out Void Cascade so the melee can step away or use a personal before it lands.

The comp

The comp was fine. Shaman, Monk, Paladin and DK covered every dispel and kick this dungeon asks for, and there was a battle res and bloodlust.

Notes

Where the numbers need a second look

Frost DK's over-exposure line is an artifact

The tool says Frost DK took Forked Lightning 9 times while peers took it 0 times. Forked Lightning (1311754) from Raj'kess hits three players per cast. Counting raw hits by spell id in the log: Hyporock was also hit 9 times, Arms Warrior 6, and Brewmaster Monk several times. The other players got this excused as boss-targeted, but Frost DK did not. The 1.2-point mechanics deduction can be ignored.

The Void Cascade death, from the log

Hyporock was at full health (1,155,623) at 24:16. Void Cascade (1222755) hit for 1,081,570, then for 973,413 at 24:18, which killed him. Those two hits are the only Void Cascade damage on any player in the key. Divine Shield was off cooldown and was pressed 16 ms after the death. Divine Protection had been used 15 s earlier and had already ended. Lay on Hands had been used on himself 28 s earlier.
