Both opening packs and a Ritual Chieftain came in one pull, and almost nothing died before the wipe.

The tank opened with both front packs and a Ritual Chieftain together, 17 enemies in all. Only 4 of them died before the wipe. The Chieftain's totem pulsed the whole party until the end and made up 28% of the damage taken. Paralyzing Shots lands on 2 players per cast and the healer removed the first each time, so Hyporock and Arms Warrior died carrying the second. A Piercing Hiss then got through at 1:25 and finished everyone who was already low. The pull size was the tank's call and is the main cause. The healer was asked for more healing per second than any of the 55 keys Arbiter's healer scale is built from.

PRESSBlessing of Freedom

WHEN
When Paralyzing Shots lands on 2 players
WHY
Freedom removes it instantly, and it did so 14 times in your earlier Altar keys. Tonight both went to players the healer had just cleansed. Arms Warrior died 4 seconds after the second one with the debuff still ticking.
PAYOFF
The healer takes one target and you take the other, so nobody ticks to death.

  2. 1:22Full wipeArms Warrior, Guardian Druid, Arcane Mage, Hyporock and Resto Shaman in 4 s, to Unstable Totem, Piercing Hiss and Ravenous Claws. Arms Warrior went first. 1 of 5 with no defensive pressed.
  3. 2:10The key was dropped 2:10 in, with 26:28 left on the timer.

What to change, biggest first

  1. Pull the Chieftain pack after the first pack is nearly dead, and kill the Chieftain first.
  2. Healer dispels one Paralyzing Shots target and the Paladin Freedoms the other.
  3. Mark the 3 Serpents and give each a named kicker, healer as spare.
  4. Hyporock: press Lay on Hands before dying under stacking damage, as it was ready at 0:57.

What the group changes together

Three things decided this pull and none of them belong to one player. The Chieftain pack should come in once the first pack is nearly dead, and then the Chieftain dies first, because its totem and spirit waves stop only when it does. Paralyzing Shots needs two answers every cast, so the healer dispels one target and the Paladin's Blessing of Freedom takes the other. Three Serpents cast Piercing Hiss in sync, so each needs a named kicker by marker, with the healer's Wind Shear as the spare.

Notes

Where the numbers need a second look

Same opening at +16

Your timed Altar +16 on 2026-09-27 fought the same front pack but pulled the Chieftain pack at 1:21, when most of the first pack was dead. Over the same 0:16 to 1:26 window that group took 314k damage per second and killed 17 enemies, with 0.9M from the totem. Tonight took 621k per second, killed 4, and took 13.2M from the totem. About a fifth of that gap is the 2 extra key levels. The rest is the pull (keydb sql on both keys).

Where the grades mislead

Resto Shaman's F mostly measures an impossible job. Arbiter says itself the throughput score is a floor here, since this key needed more healing per second than every key on its scale. Their real misses are the unused Wind Shear and a single Astral Shift at 0:27. Guardian Druid's utility score of 0 is a grader error, since the log shows Stampeding Roar, Incapacitating Roar twice, Ursol's Vortex and Typhoon.
